Question from a Meager Dungeon Fighter:
Why is the 'Avatars' section of the Auction Hall empty?
Answer from GSD:
GSD's philosophy: Fill what's empty. Empty what's full. Scratch where it itches.
Answer from the strategists of Arad: If we might expand a bit on GSD's utterly correct if a bit cryptic explanation: one of the key elements of the Auction House was to balance the game's economy. We wanted to provide a more centralized location to trade in-game items that allowed players to better gauge the general market value of their items, price them to move and add liquidity to the marketplace. Better pricing information allows the laws of supply and demand to work to stabilize what had been a fluctuating item market. This has been successful as far as its gone and the DFO team is continuing to monitor it. Once the market has stabilized a bit more, we'll begin allowing cash items like Avatars and Megaphones in the Auction Hall. This will allow these items to begin getting in the hands on non-paying players and make for a more enjoyable experience for everyone.
A fuller explanation of the Auction Hall can be found in this "Great Emporium" article.
